By creating an account or using SEA-V, you agree to these Terms of Use. Please read them carefully. Have a lawyer review before commercial launch.

01 About SEA-V

SEA-V provides tools for seafarers to record and present maritime career information, including sea time, certificates, references, and related documents. The service is provided on an “as available” basis and may change as we develop new features.

02 Eligibility and accounts

  • You must provide accurate registration information and keep your login secure
  • You are responsible for all activity under your account
  • You must be legally able to enter into a binding agreement in your jurisdiction
  • One person should not share account credentials with others

03 Your content

You retain ownership of documents and information you upload. You grant SEA-V a limited licence to host, process, and display your content solely to operate the service — including generating your CV and, if you opt in, your public profile.

You confirm that you have the right to upload your content and that it does not infringe third-party rights or breach any law.

04 Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Upload false, misleading, or fraudulent career records or documents
  • Attempt to access another user’s account or data
  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems without permission
  • Use the service for unlawful, harmful, or abusive purposes
  • Reverse engineer or scrape the service except as permitted by law

05 Public profile

If you enable your public profile, you understand that selected career information and certain uploaded files may become visible to anyone with your link. Payslips and private contact fields are excluded by design, but you should only enable public profile if you are comfortable sharing professional career data. See our Privacy Policy for details.

06 Verification and professional reliance

SEA-V helps you organise career records. Unless we explicitly state otherwise, we do not verify certificates, sea service, references, or employment history on your behalf. Employers and authorities should carry out their own checks. Do not rely on SEA-V as the sole basis for hiring, compliance, or safety-critical decisions.

07 Availability and changes

We aim to keep SEA-V available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance, outages, or third-party provider issues may occur. We may add, change, or remove features with reasonable notice where practical.

08 Suspension and termination

You may stop using SEA-V at any time and may request account deletion by contacting admin@sea-v.com. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms, create security risk, or if required by law.

09 Disclaimer

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SEA-V is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.

10 Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law. Subject to that, SEA-V shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, or for loss of profits, data, or business opportunities arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim (or £100 if the service is free), unless a court requires otherwise.

11 Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data and forms part of these terms.

12 Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, unless mandatory local consumer laws in your country give you additional rights. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
